Album "Balkan Hoodoo"

The English Audio Refinery international project: "EAR 2010" was conceived and organised by Richard English and involved the composing and reworking of modern and traditional jazz and folk music, from the UK, Serbia and Macedonia.

With the help of Serbian composer Igor Lecic, the project involved a 10 day trip to Novi Sad to meet and record the balkan musicians.

The resulting compositions, have been mixed with contemporary originality.

15 English, Scottish, Serbian, Slovakian and Croatian musicians took part in this successful and original musical collaboration.

This Escalator project was supported by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.

Album "In One EAR"

Music...? Art...? or conceptually ambient EAR candy? Uhmm......., Richard English’s free-range, original and diverse new solo album "In One EAR" is a corn-fed, genetically modified fusion of culturally ambiguous melodies, rhythms and sound collage.

Richard dictates a sometimes ominous but overall optimistic sonic escapade sans frontieres, which is only completed by the listeners imagination. This fantastic voyage of discovery surprises as it dramatically unravels before reaching its relaxing coastal climax. As ever the use of natural and man-made field recordings are incorporated into these tracks.

Richard is still affiliated with contemporary dance companies and his compositions are enjoyed by dance students and teachers alike. In fact if you can dance to this you can't dance to just anything, but then alternatively you could just sit down close your eyes, open your ears and listen.

Album "Limited to two"

The English Audio Refinery's first compilation "Limited to two" contains music and sound collage composed especially for choreographers and dance companies.
Dance titles include: Evolving Paradigm, Critical Mass and Torsion among others, performed by the Russell Maliphant Company, Ballet Boyz and the Lyon Opera Ballet.

Critical Mass and Torsion(unwound) have been filmed for the 4 Dance series on Channel 4.
Torsion was part of the Rise and Fall programme with Sylvie Guillem and the Ballet Boyz in 2006.

These compositions include natural and man made ambiance's which are used out of context. They are then merged with rhythms and melodies to create moods that inspire movement.
